BAND. Rising Zürich troubadours Paleface Swiss keep on riding the wave of European metal appreciation and putting their country at the center of the modern heavy scene. Embracing their deathcore proficiency, hardcore attitude and innate SlipKnot adoration, the quartet kickstart another year with a blast, following their envigorating CURSED LP from last January. Supercharged and more determined than ever, led by the charismatic Zelli, the boys deliver yet another dose of their signature madness with their latest EP The wilted.
REVIEW. Sitting at just 13 hectic minutes, the EP offers everything one might need to start 2026 in style. Pure, unfiltered madness with the unmistakable Paleface Swiss brand, balancing the right amount of honest emotion, raw passion and in-your-face rage. Noticeably more focused on composition, arrangement and overall musicanship, The wilted shows more depth and complexity, presenting the band at their most confident and deliberate form, without losing their signature unhinged energy.
SONGS. As disarmingly punching as surprisingly coherent, the team-up with OC OGs Stick To Your Guns on 'Instrument of War' remains undisputed highlight and proper melodic hardcore rager. A first instance of audio-visual mastery for the band, 'Everything is Fine' is a classic modern metal teerjerkers, masterfully fullfilling its purpose of draining your eyes. Add two more nü-core anthems with distinct yet tasteful SlipKnot allure - the relentless 'Wilthering Flower' and stomping 'Let Me Sleep', and we are left with an absolute beauty of an EP.
OVERALL. Another fantastic release from Paleface Swiss, making it 3 outstanding albums and 3 kickass EPs in less than 10 years. As tireless as ferocious, you can expect only big things ahead as the band is gradually moving onto the big league.
