Electric Callboy - TANZNEID - Review

BAND. As tradition dictates, Electric Callboy are wrapping up a full cycle of glorious audio-visual shenanigans with a grand album premiere. Much like TEKKNO ended the 'We Got The Moves' era back in 2022, TANZNEID now concludes their intense follow-up chapter with the loudest blast possible, befitting of the German troubadours' reputation. At this point in time everyone knows what they came to witness, so might as well strap in and enjoy the guaranteed show.

Since their sudden rise to global fame, Electric Callboy's album releases have turned into blockbuster experiences, hyped into one of the unmissable musical events of the year, and TANZNEID absolutely steps up to the occasion. Loud, bright, rowdy, comical, and supercharged with all the things that made them explode overnight - infectious hooks, anthemic choruses, unforgettable videos, and an endless supply of positive energy and good vibes. Nothing new, nothing surprising, just a 100% signature Electric Callboy mayhem.

🎶 SONGS. TANZNEID really has it all, from the explosive featuring with Babymetal on 'RATATATA' and iconic earworm 'Revery', to the slick classic 'Elevator Operator' and absolute pisstake that is 'The Way You Are'. The legendary 'Still Waiting' cover unveiled Frank Zummo as their surprising drummer, while the title track introduced the album with a suitable cinematic thunder, 'Let The Good Times Roll' dropping a generational anthem with The Offspring to bridge the past. The best part, the new tracks 'Heartclub' and 'The Saviour' totally match the LP's level for a truly unstoppable thrill ride from start to finish.

OVERALL. Expectedly solid and memorable, living to the hype and justifying the reputation. For an album with 8/10 familiar singles and 4 remixes, there is little left to the imagination. And while that predictability might eventually become an issue, for now the Electric Callboy formula works magic and remains a fantastic care-free experience that we desperately need with the chaos outside.
